The following activities are a part of our core curriculum program:
Reading
As a mother of two children, older one in a world famous university, younger one with a gift for language, I know how important reading is. I know how to encourage children to begin reading, helping lay a good foundation for their next stage in school.
Writing
It is designed to encourage development of the older child’s pre-writing skills, as well as fine motor skills and drawing skills for infant & toddler.
Mathematics
I've designed a joyful method of learning math to encourage development of concept-building skills such as classifying, ordering, determining direction and perceiving spatial relationships.
Music and Dance
I encourage children to explore many forms of dance in a social context. It helps the children interpret the music with their body, recognize different rhythms and appreciate various styles of dance.
Drama
It helps children develop their self-awareness, improves thinking and problem solving skills, encourages imaginative play and creativity, and strengthens self-concept through co-operative interaction and turn taking.
Languages
As a native Chinese speaker, I will give the children in my daycare the opportunity to be exposed to a foreign language, which is an invaluable tool for developing the brains of the little ones.
Visual Art
It is taught in my classroom. Children will explore colors, textures, materials, clays and other interesting options.
